Optimize Weekly: Airtable Tips, Demos, and Updates

This week: replay the Daretable live session, try this Airtable→Miro workflow, and weigh in on your biggest challenge.

Welcome to this week’s Optimize IS Brief - your go-to for everything Airtable, ops, and optimization.

Welcome back! This week we have the Daretable Live replay (speaker news, Chicago details, and first timer tips), a step-by-step Airtable→Miro walkthrough to keep boards in synch, a quick community check-in on your top Airtable hurdle, and a blog refresher on filters and views to keep bases tidy. Dive in below.

Let’s go!

ICYMI: Daretable Live Replay

Last week, the Daretable team went live to talk all things Daretable 2025.

We covered:

  • First speaker announcement (Chris Dancy)

  • What to expect in Chicago (venue details, schedule format, and community meetups)

  • Tips for first time attendees (hint: bring your laptop + talk to everyone you can!)

  • Speaker applications, FAQs, and the Convince Your Boss tool

If you could not join live, you can watch the replay here:

▶️ Watch This: Sync Airtable with Miro, Automatically

In this week’s demo, Ben walks through a simple way to connect Airtable and Miro so your data flows directly onto your boards.

You will see how to:

  • Push Airtable records into Miro as frames, shapes, sticky notes, text boxes, and app cards

  • Control layout and positioning with a grid setup

  • Customize colors and formatting with hex codes

  • Use a simple checkbox trigger to generate new items

  • Keep Airtable + Miro in sync by pushing updates back and forth

If you use Miro for brainstorming, project tracking, or planning sessions, this workflow makes it easier to keep everything connected, without extra tools.

Quick Community Check-In: What is Your Biggest Airtable Challenge?

Every team we work with uses Airtable a little differently but the challenges often sound familiar. Some are struggling with reporting (getting execs the numbers they need). Others wrestle with workflow design or team adoption.

So we want to hear from you: what’s your biggest Airtable challenge right now?

From the Blog:

Filters and views might seem simple, but they are some of the most effective tools for keeping your Airtable base organized. Setting them up thoughtfully means each teammate only sees what is relevant to their work, whether that is filtered tasks, grouped projects, or a clean dashboard view.

In this post, we cover:

  • How to set up filters that highlight just the records you need

  • Ways to create views tailored for different roles (from executives to creatives)

  • Practical tips to keep your base tidy and easy to navigate as your team grows
