How To Update Record Using Airtable Automation (Fill The Hidden Form)

Set Up
Firstly, you will need to click the “Automations” on the top-right side of your screens. The next thing is that you will require to “add a new automation.” For your reference, you name it anything.
Choose A Trigger
Next up is choosing a trigger. You have plenty of options to choose from, like from Airtable itself, Outlook email or calendar, and google sheets, forms, and google calendar.
For the example, we will be choosing “when the record is created.”
There will be a short form for you to fill with basic information. For instance, with the option of “table.” Taking our example ahead, we will be selecting “interactions.”
Now is the time to run a test. Once the test is successfully run, it’s time to move onto the next step.
Add Action
After the successful test run, you will have to “add action.” Upon clicking, you will see multiple options displaying on your screen. Here you will select “update record.”
Keeping up the example in our mind, we will follow along with whatever it will ask. We will add “interactions.”
And now we are onto the main and almost the last step of how to update record Airtable automation. Isn’t it so easy? Airtable features are user-friendly, and all the automation is very quick to make.
After clicking the table and choosing one of the options, in our example, we are going with an option for interactions as previously, and you will be asked to enter “Record ID.”
Under “Record ID,” you will be repeating the same step as you did in the trigger part. Here all you have to do is select the option “Record from step 1” and insert it.
Next up, you will have to fill in other requirements. You will have to enter a “field.” Going along with our example, we will name it to stage one and then select the “opportunity copy.”
You can have multiple fields adding by clicking “choose field.”
The reason why we named the first field stage one is you help you clarify that we can add several other fields, and you can name them subsequently. For instance, for an additional field, we will name it stage two.

Run A Test, And You Are Good to Go
